Car Insurance Smart (Car Insurance). Buying 2007 Honda civic 1.8L used Battery is inexpensive but i need to find out whether i can test it before?

Buying 2007 Honda civic 1.8L used Battery is inexpensive but i need to find out whether i can test it before? i decided to look for used battery in the junk yard, i live in London ON Canada but the only thing im worried about is i cant test its level before i buy it. Is it possible to check that out prior purchase??

You can't really test the battery on your own without putting a lot more money down than it's worth to buy a battery tester. Yes any local auto store will check it for free. Or the junk yard may do it also. So it's 50/50 chance that it will or won't work, if there's no way to check it before u buy why don't u look for another place that sells used n new battery's I agree with SoCal - just buy a new one. So if this used one is $20 and last you 6-8 months - is that a good deal? No, it's not. A new one is less than $100, has a warranty, and you can be reasonably certain you won't have a problem with the battery for may years, with the used one you can't be reasonably certain it will last a week.

Smart . why are luxury car owners so pretentious?

why are luxury car owners so pretentious? i constantly see benz, bmw, jaguar, and escalade owners who seem to think they're above the law and everyhting else.where does this misguided sense of undeserved entitlement come from? they run stop signs, red lights, double park, and park in red zones.i know it'snot ALL of them, but certainly a noticeably high percentage of them who do this. then if they get pulled over by the cops, they of course have to say their same BS rhetoric regarding how they pay the officer's salary.and how "I make more in a week than you make in a year..."and all this completely unnecessary and demeaning crap.i guess this is a poor attempt to justifytheir inane reasoning for why they believe the law doesn't apply to them.and when these arrogant pricks buy these vehicles,is there a prerequisite that the potential buyer must be an obnoxious DICK in order to purchase one? th same thing can be said about ford mustangs. just look at all the people who own and drive them. this is not a coincedence either-virtually every 1990's- model mustang(especially 5.0's) are owned by the most pompous jerks, who almost always seem to be thugs. car insurance.

Smart . How to Charge GT7B-4 Batteries

The GT7B-4 battery, also called the YT7B-BS, is a 12-volt, 6.5 amp-hour "sealed gel" battery designed for use with motorbikes. Although it is a low-maintenance sealed-cell battery, it can be run down and need recharging. The recharging process is similar to that for all batteries of its type. The process requires only a basic understanding of how batteries are connected and how to use a battery charger, plus the ability to use a screwdriver or wrench.
Difficulty:Moderate
Instructions Things You'll Need
Battery charger
Stiff wire brush
Wrench or screwdriver to fit the battery clamps

Step by Step :
1
Find the battery leads. If they are dirty, clean them. Battery leads are usually color-coordinated, with a red lead going to the positive (+) terminal and a black lead going to the negative (-) terminal. This is not always the case. If the lead colors do not identify the positive and negative terminals, search the battery case for "+" and "-" markings next to the terminals.
2
Using the proper size wrench or screwdriver, disconnect the positive lead from the battery. Gently bend the lead so it cannot fall back onto the terminal. Use tape or string to hold it away if necessary. Remove the negative lead in the same way.
3
Clean the battery terminals. Brush well with a stiff wire brush to remove all traces of grease, dirt and corrosion. Wipe away the debris so the terminals shine and the area around them is free of material that could conduct electricity.
4
Check the battery charger is set to 12 volts and is not connected to the power outlet. The GT7B-4 is a 6.5 amp-hour battery, so select the lowest charging current offered by your charger. Connect the charger leads to the battery terminals, ensuring that you observe the correct polarity.
5
Connect the charger to the power supply, recheck the voltage and current settings, and then switch on the charger. The power light and/or charge meter should show that the battery is charging.

Observe the GT7B-4 battery periodically. Check the charge level meter or lights on the charger and continue to charge until they indicate that charging is complete.

If the battery feels very hot, or if it is making bubbling sounds, disconnect the charger immediately.
6
Switch off the charger and disconnect it from the power supply. Remove the charger wires from the GT7B-4 battery, removing first the positive wire and then the negative wire. Reconnect the battery to the motorbike circuitry by first reattaching the negative battery lead and then the positive lead.
Tips & Warnings
Completely remove the battery from the bike between Step 2 and Step 3. This is useful in bad weather or when an outlet for the charger is not within easy range of the bike.

Keep the battery terminals clean to improve normal recharging while the bike is in use and thus reduce the need to recharge the GT7B-4 battery with a separate charger.

Motorbike and car batteries can vent hydrogen gas when overcharged. This is highly explosive, so always charge slowly in a well-ventilated area.

Remove all jewelry and metal watches before handling batteries. Accidental contact between jewelry and the battery terminals could shock or burn you.

Smart . How to Mount Trolling Motor Batteries

Trolling motor batteries can get underfoot, and tend to be bulky and heavy, but no fishing boat should be without one. Trolling motors are quieter than gasoline motors, allowing anglers to sneak up on fish without spooking them. Most larger fishing boats have special compartments where the trolling motor batteries are placed, but on boats that don't have compartments, you can mount the battery in a battery box.
Difficulty:Moderately Easy
Instructions

Step by Step :
1
Purchase a trolling motor battery box from a store that sells boating accessories. This will keep the battery from getting wet, and protect the boat from acid damage if the battery leaks.
2
Place the battery in the battery box. Follow the instructions that came with the box to connect the battery posts to the terminals on the outside of the box.
3
Connect the straps and/or latches to seal the battery inside the box. Place the box with the battery inside in a secure corner of your boat.
4
Connect the leads from your trolling motor to the terminals on the outside of the battery box. Test the connection by turning on the motor to make sure it starts. Your trolling motor battery is now mounted.
Tips & Warnings
Place the battery box away from spots where it may be kicked or tripped over in the boat. The weight of the battery will keep it in place, but it can also be tied down with bungee cord.

Trolling motor batteries should be on an independent circuit from the rest of the electronics on the boat. You don't want to use your trolling motor and find that the battery lacks sufficient charge to start your gasoline motor.

Be careful not to touch the terminals at the same time, as you may sustain a dangerous shock.

The good news is that electronic ignitions usually don't require adjusting if they're set correctly in the first place.
